Sorry super long

When I was 17 I was leaving a friend's house in the middle of a Wisconsin winter. I was standing on a bus stop when a young man circled and repeatedly asked me if I needed a ride. I eventually accepted cause it was cold af. When I got in the car he made a turn to an alley, said he had to pick up a friend on the way. As soon as he pulled over he punched me in the face, kept reaching in the back of the car for a "gun". Once he had me cornered he started to unzip my jacket and force his hands into my pants. At the time I had a flip phone (you could feel the numbers on it by memory) I called 911 in my pocket. He noticed the light coming from my pocket and punched me some more. He eventually took my phone and purse, told me to get out of the car and walk the opposite way. I did exactly what he said. I went back to my friends house and asked for a ride home never telling the complete truth. It has been almost 10 yrs now. I recently came across a news article of the same man who did this to me saying he was finally caught. He was convicted of 10 rapes through dna... the worst part is he's been driving the same car all these years, the same car he assaulted me in. If I would have came forward none of this would have happened.
