when i was in public school as a freshman in high school i had a friend and we weren’t the nicest people sometimes. keep in mind i don’t do any sports or clubs for the school bc i’ve never been that type of person. my friend is in varsity soccer and theater club. (this is important later) we had this other girl we didn’t like in our gym class and my friend decided to start a group chat with her to just mess with her and call her a few names. (terrible i know) and she took it up to the office at our school and they called me and my friend up.
they had proof of us doing it bc it was all on text and we admitted it. they excused us to go back to class while they talk to the other girl who we harassed to decide a punishment.
i then get called in saying i have a week suspension and have to apologize to the girl which i thought was reasonable. i then go back to class and wait to get called up to apologize to this girl.
me and my friend get called up and she says she just has to sit out an assembly. (everyone skips those)
i was in disbelief and told her how i got a week suspension. my friend just laughs bc she’s always had small privileges at the school bc her part in school activities. we get in the office and i bring it up how we have different punishments for the same thing and the principal proceeds to tell me that she has a game next week (she’s the top player i guess who scores the most??) and just goes on with her bs how her decision was totally fair and she then tells me all the clubs i should consider joining after i get back. i am shocked. i was so angry bc this friend i have was the outgoing one as i was the quiet one and she always had the attention from teachers and when we would mess around it would just be me who got in trouble bc they favored her. i told my parents about it and they call the school and they just say it was me who was bullying her and not my friend she was just there to see it. i had to take my punishment bc there was absolutely nothing we could do and my friend had fun in a class room ditching the assembly to play on her phone . i ended up moving to online school after two more years of public school bs. moral of the story public school sucks ASS
