“My God listen to my stupid party I’m so embarrassed of being a democrat we are on here crying because we have to get a job! How bad is the Democrats when we have to riot and kill kids we have to burn down buildings we have to defund the police in order for us to behave and quit acting like monkeys we want more money now? The Democrats are a party of free loading dumb fucks and I really am starting to hate my party! ”

We're welcoming intelligent folks who are just now seeing the light over to the other side......

Just feel free to ignore the religious crazies. Half of us don't pay attention to them. Their hearts aren't in the right place, but at least their votes and their wallets are.

We're not? Every political party is welcoming new members. That's how you gain votes.

And nice jump of logic. Even if what you said is true, it has no bearing on whether the Republicans are welcoming new members or not. My post said nothing regarding the status of total party membership, yet you felt the need to use it as a launching pad to make your unrelated statement. Sounds like Bernie Sanders alright. "I'll answer your question, but first I'll answer this...."

“We've already spent trillions to help people. How many more trillions are we supposed to spend?”

Actually, you need to check your facts and look up the history of all of this. It's public record. Of the trillions of the first CAREs package, almost all of it went to the top few percent. it was almost entirely a bailout program for the rich and huge corporations. The Republicans really weren't at all interested in helping the common man but the Dems insisted on getting something for the working class (more generous Unemployment) with a promise of a second wave which would help the middle class, hospitals, and states. With that, the CAREs act was passed. When the Dems approached the Republicans to make good on their promises to help someone other than the rich, the Republicans promptly walked away and refused the second wave. So once again, the Republicans have proven conclusively that all they give a shit about is the rich. They're inverse socialists - there's always plenty of money to prop up and enrich those who already have, but will only ever give a few token pennies to the actual citizenry. Take from the poor, give to the rich. Part of the humor of this is that they're pretty open about it. They still support supply side economics even though it's no longer taught in even the most conservative economics schools because it's been tried in several countries and always has the same result - it serves as a massive conveyor belt to transfer wealth from the lower classes to a top few percent. The benefits promised in the theory of a rising tide raising all boats never, ever pays off. The theory is a total failure, it's often referred to by economists as a "zombie idea" because even though it's dead, it keeps marching on. But the Republicans keep pushing it, and for some reason, their base keeps buying it even though they get poorer every year.

As far as I can tell, he wasn;t actually areare of hte loan, but do I think that this should be investigated? Yes, absolutely and with all due haste. You see, that's one of the primary differences between Dems and Repubs, the Dems protested Obama constantly and called him to task constantly (though not always with success). We're generally interested in fairness and justice and our "team" comes second. But with Repubs, the "team" comes first. Trump, for example, is absolutely awash in corruption and profiting from his position but the Republicans totally look the other way. For example, just look at Trump's golfing habit. Putting aside the fact that he's spent far more than twice as much time playing golf as Obama (and the Republicans were outraged at Obama for that), he ALWAYS golfs at his own clubs, where he charged the Secret Service millions upon millions of dollars to stay there in order to protect him. If Obama was lining his pockets in that way, the Republicans would have been in the streets and the Dems would have joined them. But when it's their guy in power, the Republicans look the other way. Trump has more conflicts of interest than you can count, but there's not a peep about it coming from the Republicans and instead we get over the top praise for Trump because he SUPPOSEDLY donates his salary as president even though there is no proof of that and Trump has gotten caught defrauding charities before. So to answer you're question, yes, I'll be very upset if this is looked into and malfeasance is found. Are you upset by the endless self-dealing that Trump has already proven to have engaged in?

You need to do the actual work and read the boring shit about what's going on, not just tune into Fox. The first package was dictated by the Republicans and almost exclusively helped the top few percent. The Dems approved it so long as the Repubs added a few token elements to help the middle class, like the enhanced unemployment. They did this because the Repubs promised a second package that they'd start work on immediately which would be more focused on the middle class. They then turned their backs on it. This new wave, which the Republicans are finally starting to get on board about because they know that they are facing a trouncing on voting day, is largely being held up because they want to put a proviso in the bill which would make it impossible to sue an employer over covid even if they forced you back to work in totally unsafe conditions. The Dems have resisted that proviso. If you think the Dems are dragging their feet, this is why.

As to the pork, most of it comes from the Repubs and revolves around gifts to the military industrial complex list of profiteers, which should have no place in a bill which is supposed to be aimed at helping the middle class. Here's some of it.

$283,000,000 to the Army for new-build AH-64E Block IIIB attack helicopters.

See, that's part of the problem. You act like a petulant child who can't be bothered to do the work. You just believe that you're right and don't give a shit about the facts. If you actually did the homework, if you actually cared about facts, and budgets, and economics, and statistics, and science, there is no way that you could possibly support the Republican party of today, much less Trump. This is why you see so many life long Republicans out there who want to, and the very least, oust Trump, and most of them want to excise the horrible cancer that masquerades as the Republican party today. Do the Dems have some pork in there and some fairly objectionable stuff, sure, every party tries to get when the getting might be good. But it absolutely pales in comparison to the opulent and expansive trough that the Republicans are trying to set out, yet again, for the top 3%. The Dems who are trying to be opportunistic with this bill should be penalized, and so should the Republicans. That's how you get a functional democracy. It just so happens that at this point in time, the Republican party is rife with corruption and greed. And you and I pay for it.

If there is anything in the Democratic stimulus for negros ,illegal immigrants, food stamps Medicaid expansion, defunding police or an extra $600 dollars per week I am against it
I will read the final bill when it is close to being signed that won't be for months .
If the bill has no sueing your employer , tax cuts for small business, help for landlords incentive for people seeking work and cutting off benefits for those who won't go back to work then ....I am all in !!

So then once again, you're unconcerned with facts. What you wrote clearly demonstrates that you're not only racist and hateful, but a moron to boot. The underpinning of your position is a belief in supply side (trickle down) economics which has been soundly disproven and even conservative economics schools no longer teach it. The US economy is about 70% driven by consumer spending, that's not a top down structure. With people out of work and no stimulus money sent their way, and to the states who serve them, it starts a vicious cycle of more companies closing, which causes less spending, which causes more closures, which causes less spending.... And of course, with no income comes no tax payments, so suddenly there's limited or lacking street repairs, electrical grid servicing, water, police, etc. None of this is theoretical, you can look at this kind of collapse in many societies throughout history, even in the very recent austerity moves in certain European countries. The funny part here is that, because red states tend to be the takers on the Federal system and blue states the givers, the red states are actually in the position which will take the brunt of the hit of a collapsing economy.

You're not at all interested in evidence, you're just a True Believer who can't come to terms with the fact thart you were so weak in life as to build your identity around some fundamentally flawed ideologies and thoroughly corrupt people who play you for a fool.

You're arguing with the board's resident moron. Don't expect anything he says to make sense or be accurate.

I got tired of waiting. I live in Portland near where the riots are. I’ve been robbing rioters when I can pull one away. My family will eat because I will do what I have to do.

You are a real Debbie downer. Handing out free money to people never works . You need to laugh more ,tell a few jokes , have you ever been happy in your life ? My advice to the poor is try to laugh more just because you are poor don't mean you have to be miserable. Try relaxation techniques like yoga , karate ,swimming .Try comedy shows . Don't worry that will raise your stress hormones . Dance around the house ,try playing board games . Remember what Reverend Schuller says " tough times don't last ,but tough people do " ask God for guidance . You might be on the mat now but keep smiling .

Firstly, I was a millionaire before I was 30, I'm 51 now, so your assumption of me being on the mat is incorrect. Secondly, giving people money has indeed worked at times throughout history. For example, virtually all economists agree that without the money handed out to people during this downturn (and the moratoriums on debt collection, etc. which amounts to the same thing), we would be in even far worse of a situation than we are. Your statement lets me know that you've never studied economics. It's all very complicated and everything has limits but you need to look at the role of stimulus money and deficit spending in the history of economics, it definitely can work and has many times. The opposite, however, of giving tons of money to people at the top and hoping that it will trickle down never seems to work. Both have histories, both can be studied, and have been to no small extent, so "belief" in these matters is unnecessary. There are actual facts which can be observed. What we really should be doing right now, if we had any kind of real leadership, is a jobs program. One great option for this would be testing and tracing programs. Other countries got them in gear right away, and not only did they manage to do much, MUCH better than us in terms of fencing in C-19 and reopening their economies, these jobs tended to be well paying and allowed many out of work people to still make a living. But all of that takes actual effort and leadership, something that Trump has zero interest in.

How am I weak ? Paid for house ,automobile, money , good food , health care, and I am not begging for no stimulus package, I don't need i have more than I need .I never have to beg for money if I live until 100. I have never had this much fun in my whole life . Trump is a comedy show every day for me , making monkeys out of democrats laughing right in their faces doing whatever he wants and no one can stop him . Gives himself money for the wall , ending DACA
even after the court said he couldn't , won't release his taxes after court said he had to , pardoned Roger Stone and Flynn , laughed at the impeachment proceedings , ignores Nancy Pelosi , laughed at Russian hoax , ended asylum seekers , ended illegal immigrants waiting for hearing booted them to Mexico . This guy has been the greatest President for people who love
their President to stick it to the liberal elites and make their head pop off with anger this has been so so so much fun and watching the feminists at the ksvenaugh hearing was hilarious
