Narcissists and Psychopaths have to be the cause of most interpersonal problems.
I added the flair because there's a decent chance your boss is a narcissist. The N word is getting thrown around a lot lately. A better was to to put it might be "people that lack empathy" but Narcissists and psychopaths are two words that we invented to describe the most extreme forms of a lack of empathy. I've started working in a construction setting where there actually hasn't been a lot to do and I've met people with some dark traits, I don't know If I'm just looking closer, but I've met a few people that seem intelligent but they aren't, they're just cunning and ruthless and do things in a way that makes them look better (when the Foreman is there), without verbally "taking credit". I started helping my dad after he had health issues so I'm new to the line of work.
Besides that I've met a few people that know how to get away with being cruel. They do things in a way that gives them the a chance to deny their behavior. Nothing horrendous but I can see them trying to piss off fellow co workers. If you call them out they either deny it or disguise it as a game. I feel like I'm the only one that can see what they're doing or everyone is just playing along. I know the words cunning and manipulative describe these two things I just hadn't seen it in person so much until recently
