Today is my birthday and after my husband didn’t say anything by about noon I realized he forgot. I would never expect anything outlandish, just a simple “happy birthday” and a kiss would suffice but he didn’t even do that. When I got home from work he was already home watching tv. I asked him if we could go out to dinner somewhere nice tonight and have a little fun. He said he wasn’t in the mood then came up to me and pinched my side and said “you’ve been getting a little chunky anyway.” Now I’m sitting in the bathroom while the shower runs trying not to cry. Sorry if I’m coming off as whiny or childish, I just wanted to get this off my chest.

Your husband is a thoughtless child. Do you really want to be married to that for the rest of your adult life? Do you want him to father your children - not just biologically but actually parent them? With this attitude?

When his birthday comes around, 'forget' his birthday and refuse to be accommodating to him and give him a taste of his own poison. Then tell him "I like my body the way it is, so get over your body-shaming attitude or it's over!"

sorry, life with men can be really difficult sometimes. he'll figure out eventually that he forgot. when he does, his reaction should be your clue as to whether or not you should stay with him, or go find real happiness in life
