My grandma still works full time and also has a lot
Of health issues. A few weeks ago she asked me to drive her to work BC she couldn’t drive herself (she was fresh out of the hospital and on oxygen).

In order to drive her to work I had to drive 20 mins north to pick her up, 45 minutes south to her job, and then 30 mins back to my home for a dentist appt. we agreed on a time I’d pick her up (5:30pm) and I texted her at 5:05t I was leaving my house eta 30 mins and She responded ok.

I get there and she claims she’s “not ready yet” and I should go hang out in the little kitchen area.

I sat there for an hour and a half. And then had to drive her 45 minutes north to home and then 20 minutes back south to my own home. I was frustrated to the point of tears that we agreed on a time and I ended up waiting around for over an hour as if I didn’t have anything else to do.

Cut to last night. She asked if I could take her to a 9am doctors appt. So again I need to drive north to take her south and then home.

I get to her house at 7:30 am and she tells me oh my appt is actually 9:30 not 9 so we don’t have to leave yet. Then she says I wanna stop by work after to get a few things done.

I just simply said no. I agreed to take her to her drs appt. nowhere in the text was bringing her to work and sitting there for some undetermined amount of time part of the deal. I’m just so tired of people not respecting my time.

I didn’t get home until 12pm from that morning trip. 7:30am-12pm to shuffle her around to the doctors.

Now I love my grandma. And I’m grateful that she’s alive and I have her in my life. But when you ask for a favor from someone DONT you stick to the favor you asked???? How did a doctor trip turn into oh bring me to work and wait for me there.

And to specify, there’s nothing in the area for me to go do for a few hours while she works. And it’s covid everthing is closed. It’s like people don’t realize I have shit to do during the day. When I go out of my way to help you with something, DONT ask for more.
