When I went to check up on it, I noticed the water was really low and dirty. I added water to the bowl but then I noticed the water was really dirty, so I pour a little out and then a little more. I had fresh water coming in at the same time. I held my hand there to catch it in case it came out. The little fella swam straight out, pass my hand and right down the drain. I stood there in shock and I let out a cry.

It happened close to her birthday and Christmas, I told our family and they told me to not worry about and just buy her another fish and pretend it was Bob. Except I didn’t want to do that, i don’t want another fish to suffer and if she found out that it’s not the same fish...I would drown from guilt. For a good week or so her family would awkwardly lie to her that her fish was fine because they didn’t want to tell her that her dumbass cousin pour it down the drain.

So when she came home for the Christmas break, I took her to the side and I told her that her fish passed away. I cried. She smile and she said it’s okay. He didn’t have to suffer anymore. I cried even more.
