My country hasn't done anything for the world

I just can't get over this. I live in a small insignificant country in southeastern Europe which doesn't have good european culture and hasn't done anything for the world like inventions. It has been conquered by the ottoman empire for a few centuries which made us miss important events like the Renaissance and industrialization, which we will never get back. Basically our history and culture is screwed for eternity, unless we invent a time machine.

Islam does that. It is a prehistoric religion. But nobody believes that Islam invaded Europe. They think that the crusades were the other way around. The crusades were a response to the invasions of Europe.
