Life is not fair, I know that. But that doesn't mean that I am not resentful that I am poor

Why was I born to my parents? I ask myself that all the time. We live in a small house that we rent. My mother works at the grocery store as a cashier and my father works for the city as a maintenance superintendent. I have one brother. Our house is so small that I can hear when my parents have sex and I can hear when my brother has sex all by himself. We have one bathroom and since I can remember my father has walked in on me, my brother has walked in on me and my mother says they are just trying to get a look and not to make too much of it. I have a friend, well she is a girl who works with girls like me to encourage us to go to college. She is super nice and when she comes to our school to help she is brought to the school in a BMW SUV by a driver and he waits for her. She lives way over there where all the rich people live. She brings me gifts, clothes for interviewing, some jewelry that she wants to share with me, she has beautiful handwriting. She filled out all my college applications for me, she is trying to get me a scholarship to where she is going to college. She really likes me. She has to help other girls but she is here for me and she isn't going to quit until she gets me a scholarship. We talk on the phone all night and we are close like sisters. She asked her parents to adopt me when I was in the tenth grade but obviously that didn't happen. When I finish high school this spring we are going to move in together and go to college. If she can't get me a scholarship she will ask her father to pay for my college. I do have good grades, but I didn't before I met her in the ninth grade. She is my inspiration. She is why I want to go to college and why I go to school and didn't drop out. My parents do not believe I can get into college and they think that since I met her I am all full of myself, well they say it differently.

The old "Why am I me?" question. We all do it.

Learn to suck cocks really really well and you will not need any handouts. You will be able to pay for your own tuition. I'm sure your home life might be better if you practiced on your brother.

Poor OP, sleeping in a bed with a roof over their head and food in their stomach.

There is a saying: "Comaprison is the root of all unhappiness."
Do not compare your situation to anyone else's. Make the best that you have with what you got. I was raised in a family in the bottom 10% of all households. I've done the best financially of anyone in my high-school graduating class. You can too.
To the extent that you spend time feeling sorry for yourself then you waste your life and you miss doing things that you could have done.
So Today, and from now on, stop feeling sorry for yourself.
