I’ve grown so much over this past year while on a break from school than I ever have in the four years I was in school. Weird?
I was always considered smart because of my GPA and straight A’s, but I never really cared for it. I just felt like I was going day by day taking classes, writing papers, passing exams, and doing quizzes and assignments without really thinking about it.
Now that I’m not going to school, I’ve found what I truly wanted to do with my life and have progressed so much.
Is it weird to feel like school felt like a prison for me? Like, not literally a prison, but I felt suffocated and bored. There was so much pressure to keep up with my “smart student” reputation and a lot of pressure to pursue specifically STEM careers.
Anyone else experience this?
