It's my girlfriend's birthday tomorrow and Murphy's Law is messing with me.
(I hope this post is not against the rules. It's not something very deep, but it's a series of small events that have really started to get to me.)
Tomorrow, it's my girlfriend's birthday and I've been planning her gift for a couple of weeks now. However, everything is starting to go wrong and I'm so stressed out!! I don't have to be, because my gf is really sweet and I know she will be happy, but still!!!
I bought her concert tickets for a concert later this month. We both love the songs of the artist - one of them will even be our first dance song at our wedding! I didn't want to just give her the tickets (because she already knew she was gonna get them), so I took the biggest box I could find and started buying her favourite snacks to fill it with. So far, so good.
* Last Tuesday, I get an e-mail from the place where I bought the tickets: the concert was cancelled :') Thank god it got cancelled BEFORE her birthday tho, and not after, or else I would have had no gift except for some snacks. I decided to buy her the headphones she really wanted, so this part didn't end that badly.
* She told me a while ago that she would like to do something with her friends as well, but that she didn't like asking them. So I started a group chat with some of her friends and asked if they wanted to throw a surprise party. A few girls said yes, a couple others ignored me. So we started making plans: lunch + go laser shooting. Fast forward to this Thursday: FOUR (!) girls said they weren't free on Sunday. So again: a last minute change of plans. I asked if they wanted to eat dinner together and then go out and some of them said yes, but we STILL haven't decided where to eat or at what time we will meet. The group chat is dead, with everyone ignoring my last message. It is 10:30pm AAAAAAAAAAAA
* I had asked my gf to come to my place at noon tomorrow (back when the lunch + laser shooting was still a thing) and this afternoon, I bought a small cake to celebrate. A few hours ago, she told me her parents had bought her two cakes and that she'll eat them for breakfast tomorrow. I told her that she will be eating cake for the whole weekend then and we started joking about it and then she said "it's okay, I'll just eat healthy for the rest of the month". Mind you: I have a big boxed FILLED with biscuits and other snacks!!!! Thank god I also bought strawberries to go with the cake LMAO
* My girlfriend really loves the movie Cloud Atlas and has already asked me a couple of times to watch it with her. I've always been hesitant because it's 3 hours long and I don't like long movies, but since the surprise party during the day got cancelled, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to finally watch it together. I had already checked Netflix a couple of months ago to see if it was on it and it was! But today I checked again and... it's not available in my country anymore. No big deal, I'l just rent it in the Apple store for 4 dollars, but AAAARGHHHH, why can't ANYTHING just go RIGHT from the beginning!!!!!
I know that she will still be happy and have a nice birthday, but I just needed to get this off my chest. I just can't wait to see her beautiful, happy face tomorrow, then I know it was all worth it!!
Let's just hope her friends answer and we ACTUALLY get to do something with them...
