That's pretty much the (slightly less severe) equivalent of falsely leading someone on, except you don't even have the decency to give that person an iota of attention before you do so.

I have so many messages in my inbox on sites like OKCupid, where you can't message someone UNLESS they "like" you. But the one message just sits there and they never bother to so much as respond with "hi."

It's very frustrating, especially considering most guys on a dating site have lottery-tier odds of success. Either that, or I'm ugly, boring, annoying, or all three.
