I know a gal who has two kids and is pregnant with the third. They all have the same heart condition that is genetic because mom and dad have just the right set of genes to cause the heart defect. Both the kids (5 and 18months) suffer constantly and are in and out of the hospital monthly for either surgeries or a viral infection that their bodies can’t fight. They are on oxygen and can’t play like other kids and are very limited.

It breaks my heart to see these sweet kids suffering. They are a joy and I’m glad to know them, but the mom got pregnant again and in the genetic tests and anatomy ultrasound the fetus was diagnosed with the same condition. They know any kids they have are extremely likely to have this condition but they won’t use protection and continue to get pregnant.

I think it’s horrible and selfish. Yeah I’m a terrible person for thinking that and that’s fine. I hate seeing kids suffer. Seeing a child in pain or seeing them so sad because they can’t go ply with their friends is heartbreaking, yet these parent are okay with going through it again and again.

I don’t and will never understand that mentality. Call me what you will, but they are being selfish by bring more sick children into the world. Those kids do not deserve that quality of life.
