As a hobby. I'd never do it professionally although I've had plenty of opportunities to, just because its no fun when you're under pressure. I just like going out to my shop,turning on the TV or radio and working on cars.and I make a decent amount of side money doing it.I currently have one I bought for next to nothing with a blown engine, so I pulled it and got a low mileage one from lkq and installed it and fixed some other things I found, CV joint boots,a few bad wires etc,but anyway when I'm done I'll have around 2,000.00 in it and the book value is 6,500 in good condition. I've been piddling around with it for about three weeks in my spare time and I'll ask5,500 and probably settle around 4,800 so I'll make an extra 2,800 dollars doing something I find therapeutic in my spare time they'll get a nice vehicle with only 80,000 miles on the motor, new tires,brakes,water pump,spark plugs,and a lot of stuff the previous owner just replaced, it has new front and rear seals,new front torque converter seal,new radiator and I serviced and recharged the a.c.with new dryer filter and orifice,clean title and carfax.so in the end we should all be happy. Only bad thing is I have to find another project after this one.
