I lied to my current boss about the amount of money that my ex-boss was going to give me to get a bigger raise.
So my last boss gave me an annual review and gave me the basic percentage raise which barely keeps up with inflation. It was about $0.60.
He said that he wanted to promote me to the next up position and give me an extra dollar eventually.
Well..... he got fired a week later.
A week after that, I went to my current boss and told him about the promotion that the other guy was going to give me and said that he said he wanted to give me $2-$3 more. He said he’d see what he could do, and to make a long story short I came out with about $2.60 more an hour.
