I have the worst cat. I don't like him and don't want him, but I can't find anyone who wants him, so I feel like I'm stuck with him.

Let me preface this by saying I feel extremely guilty about all of this. I feel bad for the little guy, bad for myself, bad for my roommate, and just bad in general.
I adopted a kitten from the nearby animal shelter about a year ago. At the time, I wasn't sure if I really wanted to bring one home yet, but they were pushing cats on everyone because they had so many of them at the time. I just kind of picked a kitten up and before I knew, I was home with it.
I had done my research beforehand about owning cats, and I knew a lot. But I wasn't prepared for this cat. At first, he was okay -- very playful and energetic, but with a bit of a restraint problem. I worked very hard with him on socializing him, trying to make him okay with being held and handled, etc. It worked out for a while, until one day he just changed. He started biting me when I tried to pick him up, and when I'd put him down he would turn to face me with aggressive posture and lunge himself at me with teeth and claws gnashing. He starting wanting CONSTANT play--if I wasn't playing with him every waking second that I was home, he would start being destructive and trying to bite/scratch me. He was meowing at the door throughout the night, and if I let him in he would just bite and pounce on me. I started spending most of my time, energy, and money trying to keep the cat entertained, which affected my relationship, my mental health, and my performance at work.
Now, he just wants constant attention. He'll follow me around everywhere, and yet he hates being held, handled, or pet, so he'll bite me if I make a wrong move or look at him wrong. He and I have a plain old bad relationship, and I don't know if anything could ever repair it. I took him to the vet several times, spent hundreds of dollars on tests, and was told he's perfectly healthy, just "has quite the personality." Nothing to be done.
Eventually, I knew I just couldn't take it anymore and tried to find him a new home. I asked all my friends and coworkers, I made a profile for him on Craigslist and several other adoption websites, and after several months of searching, I've come up dry. Everyone wants a friendly, calm, cuddly cat who isn't aggressive, but this cat is the opposite, so no one wants him.
I know if I try to take him back to the shelter, he'll probably be be euthanized or labeled unadoptable because of his biting history. I can't do that to him. So I feel stuck with him. I'm miserable, he's miserable, we're all miserable. Dumb cat.

Whatever you do, don't dump the little guy outside. They live a miserable, short life when you do that and if not fixed produce lots of kittens that have bad lives. Hope you find someone who wants to adopt him.

Dumb owner to blame the poor cat for YOUR own behavior. But that's what humans always do.....blame others.
If you didn't want a cat then you shouldn't have taken him, but I know it wasn't you...it was THEM because they were PUSHING cats and so you were FORCED to take him.
Cats, dogs and kids do not just SUDDENLY "change" one day.
We are not getting the truth here.

Yeah everyone here is stupid, be realistic not every fucking cat can be saved. You did RVERYTHING you could for him, and he’s still a misbehaved aggressive cat. You could love a cat to death, but if it can’t behave in a household environment and can’t survive outside then it won’t survive long period. You’re willing to sacrifice your mental and physical wellbeing, your social life, your funds for an animal you can’t control or bring around friends and family? You have to let it go or euthanize it, there’s no other option. Unless you can find someone willing to deal with it, the end of the day THEY ARE PETS. We can love them, but we shouldn’t sacrifice everything we have and own and love for them. They wouldn’t for us, let me tell you that much especially considering the people who come on here. Just get rid of it, do it for your own damn sake

I mean, have you tried having him neutered and setting up a specific playtime schedule? Also do you just have cat wands, or do you also have balls/mice for him to bat around?

My friend, obtain a handgun, dig a hole, bring kitty to the hole, blast him in the back of the head quick, bury him when he stops breathing, and that's the end of that. It's the most humane thing to do, don't bring him to a shelter, just BANG and it's finished.

Part of life is doing what is difficult. Find a no kill shelter and drop him off. Don’t ask questions just drop him off.
You need to understand that, from what you have described, if that cat was big enough he would kill you and eat you. Admit a bad decision fix it and move on.

Improve the human race significantly by digging that hole, stand in it then bang problem solved.

I didn't even bother reading since from the title it was obvious some lunatic narcissistic animal abuser wrote it. No such thing as "bad or worse" cat or animal. Only bad and worst people who cause the animal to behave they are. I think you should be ashamed of yourself. Take the poor cat to any animal rights groups or animal rescue organizations and have them find him a home.

IKR?! HIGHLY seconding your answer. Really glad people like you also exist in this world. Wished all these human trash were instead replaced by decent people like you.
