I (F16) have lost 100s of dollars worth of retainers and just lost another set tonight. I don’t know how to tell my mom.

The first pair got lost at summer camp, and the second we discovered that the dog ate. This one was just no excuse stupidity. Between jumping around the tri-state area for various events this weekend, I had just stuck the retainers in my coat pocket (ZIPPERED!) and called it a day, assuming (I was so naive back then) that they’d still be there when I would check again.
Once I realized they were gone an hour ago essentially 2 days later, it was far too late to backtrack. There’s no way to remember each event in such a sensory overload of a weekend. So here we are-it’s about as late as it gets on a school night for me, and I’ve succumbed FOR A THIRD TIME to the call of the lost teeth. After the realization, I cried as quietly as possible in frustration as to not wake anyone else up. Not sure how to come to my parents about this, who have already had to deal with the orthodontist twice over The Teeth.

You sound like a girl who has no responsibility and is entitled. I can help you but you need to be ready to listen. How can you show that you are ready?
