Not eating doesn't mean for just 5 minutes. If you don't put food in your mouth, you will lose weight, but it isn't healthy to lose it that way. Your problem may be what you eat rather than how much you eat.. This formula is guaranteed: Low carbs + low calories + exercise = weight loss. I lost 130 lbs.

Cut out all soda pop, coffee, sugary drinks, junk food that has no nutrional value. Drink water instead, or water mixed with drink powder like crystal light. If you want a something to snack on eat raw fruit and vegetables or salad with a little dressing for better taste. Make fruit smoothies.

Some people like to get their exercise outside, other people like a gym or health club. Either way you'll meet like minded people and be a motivation for each other. Try different things like hiking, jogging, cycling, running stairs, walking a track at local school. There are so many different types of activities that are exercise but won't seem like it if you enjoy it. Personally, I love hiking and mountain biking, so many places to do both. Because I enjoy both activities I'm motivated to get out regularly and do them and the bonus is that they are free exercise I can do anywhere.

Some people have under lying medical problems that make losing weight hard. You may want to talk to your primary doctor who then may refer you to a dietician. The important thing is to not think of it as "dieting" but a lifestyle change of making better food choices. Some people do better without any sweets or junk food so they don't over indulge. Other people have the self control to snack a little and know when to stop. Have to figure out which works better for you. Maybe start off with a complete junk food ban to get off to a good start. Maybe after many months or a year has passed try buying some individually wrapped cookies, chips, or some other treat that is a single serve.

There are fitness apps that can help track your progress and help motivate. If you have an Android phone, check out Health Infinity, Keep Training and Sports Tracker. S Health for Samsung devices, LG Health for LG devices and the All Trails app. Try searching some things on Youtube like healthy eating, sports fitness or other ideas you have. Have to surround yourself with successful people who have the same healthy goals and their positive influence will give you the motivation to stay on track.

I used to say the same thing to myself but I knew deep down I’m not trying hard enough lol you’re not either. There’s no biological way you cannot lose weight if you don’t eat. Even people with ‘slow metabolisms’ or thyroid problems will lose weight. And like someone said, it’s not something that happens in a week or two weeks..you have to go beyond that and stick to it and not underestimate what you are eating. I have lost weight before so I know but you have to get into the right mindset to continue the journey or it just won’t work. Stay positive and stick to it even when you don’t see change. You probably want it all now but it will take a while to achieve but overall, in hindsight, it doesn’t really take that long.

Have your thyroid checked. If it is off it can be harder to lose weight until it is under control. Not eating is the worst thing - makes your body hold onto fat because it makes it think you're starving. Just lower your calories and junk intake.

Exercise every day - even power walking will do, doesn't have to be the gym. Low carbs/low calories/high protein is the key. Only drink water... More calories are consumed from beverages then you realize - water is best for lots of reasons. Good luck! It WILL happen but it takes time!

It's brutal, and I know because I'm rocking a serious beer gut. But the math does not lie. If you consume less than your body burns, you will lose weight. Start there, and improve how you do it. Don't starve yourself and then have a weak moment that leads you to a pound of pasta out of the pot. Drink tons of water and eat food that doesn't contain a lot of sugar or carbs. Break some habits and squeeze in a walk every day, even if 5 minutes. Eat less than your body burns, and try to help it with some form of movement.

Most importantly, when you're trying this, you have to be honest with yourself. You know if you are or aren't. Also, people on here love to wave around their internet genitals and insult anyone they can. Laugh that off and just imagine what that bozo in mom's basement jerks off to. That'll get you off the sofa.

Watch "the Magic Pill" was on Netflix, might still be.
My mom cries when she thanks me for showing it to her..
She was dedicated, and still not losing weight, 6 month later she was down probably 35 lbs.
I'd guess from about 165 to 130... I haven't asked for numbers, but noticably smaller & more fit.
Her yearly doctor app't fell around the 6 moth mark. Doctor called her vitals... OPTIMUM.
