I don’t like the commuting life as a college student

Yes, yes, yes. I drive. I live somewhat close to campus too. But it’s not about the travel time. It’s about being disconnected from college. I hate how I can’t be involved with everything. I hate how if I want to hang out with friends at night, I have to either take public trans...(oh wait, I can’t since they end too early) or take an expensive ass uber. I hate that I have to come back home to the same exact place I’ve been living at. I hate that my parents were “SOoOOo against dorming. I hate that my mother thinks that my desire to have a college experience is stupid. I hate leaving campus. I want to experience college life, because it’s quite a once-in-a-lifetime chance.
Now that my rant is over, here’s the details. It’s been five weeks since I started attending Fordham University. I have been going there every day since, and I don’t really like it. I am considering moving to Binghamton University for my sophomore year. As long as my state grant remains the same (which it probably will, unless my parents magically get rich), and I get the same federal loans, my expected out of pocket cost is around $9-10k. My parents will cover a portion of that cost. I, in turn, will have to work 15-25 hours a week. I know that having a job is hard, but IDK, I’d rather get paid for labor than not? Anyway, what are your thoughts? I’m supposed to wake up in 5 hours.
