I can’t remember the last time I truly watched a movie/TV show without looking at my phone

I know we all joke about being addicted to our phones, but I literally can’t remember the last thing I watched for the first time and didn’t do something with my phone. Movie theaters even (i.e. checking for text messages, looking at the time, responding to a time sensitive email).

I worry I’ll never experience a truly transporting media experience, because I’m constantly experiencing media on my phone.

Am I alone? Is this just a bad habit?
