So i(23M) recently graduated from college and i immediatly started working where i had my internship. My official title here is project and automation engineer and to be honest it has always been my dream to become one but lately i really feel like i made the wrong career choice.
The company i work in is small in numbers (7 people total), wich means i need to do a lot of things from drawing electrical schematics to building the cabinet, programming the whole system and going to the client to install and start everything up. I think that the reason im not very happy is because i always wanted a nice desk job where i can program/design stuff but here its way more things i have to do and its also very hands on. Truth is my passion lies with programming and not really with the physical aspect of it all and i kinda wish i went into the IT sector because i actually started programming stuff as a hobby not so long ago and the idea of it being my job is really appealing to me.
I actually feel really bad about not being happy with where i am because there is a loooooot to learn and master and they hired me so i can be the replacement of the only "programmer" at the company when he leaves for his pension in about 5 years. This is a huge thing to get handed to me as i just left school and getting a position like that in 5 years is unheard of, and this is exactly the reason i feel really bad about the whole thing.
Now im not looking for advice but in my mind there are 2 ways to go about this but im very conflicted about it:
A) I stay at this job and hope that ill grow to like it more over the years as its been like 4 months scince i started
B) I quit this job and apply for jobs that are more suited for me (with my degree finding a job is really not hard).
