I had a bitch of a teacher in high school. Everyone hated her and looking back you could tell she was miserable and hated teaching. We of course pushed all her buttons and I was the one who usually got everyone to do stuff to her.

College set me straight and I realized I needed to look toward my future. I got my AA, went in the peace corps for two years (digging toilets and wells, oh boy!) then came back and got my BA in engineering and lined up a good job.

I met a wonderful woman and we hit it off. After three months she wanted to introduce me to her family. I showed up for dinner and met her mom, my old high school teacher. I was ready to apologize to her for making my final year with her a living hell. I never had the chance. She started screaming at me like a crazy person and drilling me with tons of questions about dating her daughter. Thankfully my girlfriend pulled me out of the house and apologized for her mom's behaviour. She told me her mom has always been a bitch and thinks that no man is good enough for her. We got take out and sat in a park and she told me all the nasty things her mom did, how her dad couldn't take it anymore and that made him leave.

I told her that I recognized her mom from high school and told her the things we used to do to her. I thought she would be pissed off but she said she wished she could've been there to see it.

We decided if we are still together six months from now that my girlfriend will move in with me, we will go to Reno and get married. Her mom is not invited to the wedding, or to our house ever. Treating her daughter with love and respect is the best revenge for how her mom treated me.
