It is horrifying that Floyd was a drug dealer, was an addict, held a gun to a pregnant woman's stomach demanding $$ and drugs or he'd blow away her unborn child. It's horrifying that he'd do those things. Still he didn't stop. He passes fake currency for a counterfeit ring and did more drugs, taking a fatal overdose.

Anyone who even remotely suggests that such behavior is acceptable is, or that Floyd is a "victim" is indeed trying to gaslight the readers. Floyd's own actions caused his problems.

  • Commented Apr 9, 2021 15:26 by anonymous

Give the police live ammo and orders to shot looters on sight. After the first 50 or 60 were shot dead there would be a real sudden stop to the looting and burning.

No one has suggested that such criminal behavior is acceptable.

You are aware that your argument here is basically that what chauvin did is ok because Floyd is a bad person, right? That's faulty reasoning in several different ways. The issue is not whether or not Floyd was a bad person. The issue is whether or not excessive force was used, whether the officer intended to hurt him, whether they should have called for an ambulance earlier, etc. Flipping the issue from whether or not police brutality to occurred to saying that Floyd deserved it seems a lot like gaslighting to me.

Who appointed you King? Who says that YOU get to set the parameters of the issue? Floyd's behavior can't be ignored because it led to his death. He was in prison before and this time around he would have died from the overdose regardless of cops or no cops. The videos show that the cops had no malice against Floyd. They offered to roll down the police car windows so he could get lots of air while they drove him to the hospital. That's on video. If the cops intended harm then they would not have offered any help. Stop putting your fucking conclusions in my mouth. I didn't say that Floyd DESERVED IT. There are consequences for the choices that Floyd made. The cops did not force Floyd to take an overdose. The cops did not make Floyd to drugs for years and become addicted.

Force? Cops helped Floyd get in the police car and later helped him sit down. That's on video. They aren't doctors and were not there to diagnosis Floyd and to call an ambulance at a certain time. Floyd could have cooperated and they would have driven him to the hospital.

I am not the one setting the parameters for the issue. The judicial system is.

This has been covered in the thread. If he hadn't been in police custody, he could have easily called for an ambulance himself. The video shows that the cops had no malice towards Floyd? He kneeled on his neck and didn't get up when he repeatedly said he couldn't breathe. That is malicious. When you attack Floyd for being a bad person and imply that it is ok because of his past behavior, you kind of are saying that he deserved it.

"could have easily called for an ambulance himself" ..... I assume you meant that as comedy, right? Floyd had more than 3x a lethal dose of fentanyl in his blood. His death was assured by his actions.

Excuse me? The man was an addict and the experts aren't even agreed that the amount was lethal and people who are addicts can tolerate higher and higher doses of the drug. You're just being rude.

While addicts can build up a tolerance, it's not 3x the lethal dose. The commonly agreed upon lethal dose is 3 ng/ml. Floyd was 11. Plus methamphetamine. You're just in denial.

Hospitals have ways to treat people who take too many drugs. His death was not guaranteed.

Twist, twist and churn. Do you have a position that is reasonable or are you only able to twist what others say?
The judicial system isn't setting anything on this page.
In the judicial system, Floyd's conduct and drug addition are certainly considered.
Floyd was free to call an ambulance, ask the cops to call an ambulance, ask a bystander to call an ambulance. Or not take the illegal drugs to begin with.
Yes the videos show the cops being very accommodating toward Floyd and offering kindness, as previously mentioned in detail.
The cops did not kneel on his neck obstructing his airway. Recent video and testimony showed the cop had his knee against the shoulder. To block breathing the cop would need to be in FRONT of Floyd and pressing on his THROAT as THAT is where the airway is. The airway is NOT in the shoulder.
It is a FACT that Floyd's decisions have consequences. There are consequences of being a drug addict and having a toxic dose in the body. That is FACT, not a moral judgment.

I think I'll start putting words and conclusions in your mouth. Turn about is fair play.

I didn't say that the judicial system is setting anything on this page. The judicial system is what decides whether or not chauvin is guilty. Yeah, it sure looked kind when he had his knee on his neck and wouldn't let him up even when he said he couldn't breathe. What lovely and kind cops.

What words or conclusions have I put in your mouth? I said that in a discussion on whether or not chauvin was guilty, attacking floyd's character as a way of defending chauvin is implying that he deserved it. You're delusional and overly defensive.

That is your opinion that Floyd deserved it. I never said that. You keep saying over and over that Floyd deserved it. Why do you think he deserved it?
You said "the argument here" [on this page] and I asked who are you to set the parameters of the issue [here on this page]? Then you answered the judicial system is setting the parameters. Are you going to keep switching back and forth between the page here or the court. Try to be clear where you are at. Here or in court. Otherwise you are putting conclusions forward for me that I did not make.
You constantly omit the facts that drug addict Floyd was saying he couldn't breath so the cops offered him a ride to the hospital with the windows down. They are lovely and kind to do that. AGAIN I stated facts. You are the one pointing out that the facts do not show Floyd to be a very nice person and this an attack. You are attacking the cops to cover over Floyd's dug addiction and criminal behavior.

    Are you insane?

I haven't been switching back and forth between the page and the court. The judicial system sets the standards for how you determine whether or not a person is guilty. I said that whether or not george floyd is a good person does not pertain to whether or not chauvin is guilty. Try to be clear where you are at? Wtf? I'm obviously not in a courtroom. Jesus.

I did not say anywhere that Floyd deserved it in any capacity. This is just deceitful.

Are you CRAZY? So you are trying to get the judge to rule on free speech on this page? Why do you want that? Why shouldn't Floyd's drug addiction be considered since that is what killed him? How much drugs do you think he can take with a life of drug abuse? Why did you want him to take even more? Just how much of a toxic overdose is high enough? Are you a re drug pusher?
