I like Mother’s Day. I’m a mother and a wife. I was treated to many surprises by my immediate family today. It was great. Mother’s Day bums me out a little though. I don’t think my mom likes me. She took my family and moved 1500 miles away after I moved out. She visited last year. She stayed at my house and I was enjoying our visit until the last day when she told me how annoying I am. She’s probably not wrong but we only see each other every few years so it made me feel awful to hear her say that I’m annoying and opinionated. She compared me to an associate that we both dislike. It was a slap in the face after I had spent most of a week doing my best to make sure she was comfortable and having a nice time in my home. I should probably let it go but it’s difficult.
