I flirt with my best friend at college, even though I know he likes me, even though I have a boyfriend back home. But I won't break up with my boyfriend because I know our relationship has the potential to last a very long time; he's just being an ass when it comes to longdistance because he prioritizes me below school, extracurrics, family, and sleep.
Also my boyfriend's family have been very supportive of me and my mother- who may or may not be going through divorce, but definitely emotional spousal abuse- so I want to stay in their family. My boyfriend is a very good person too. I think I love him.
But my best friend at college is here for me, listens to me, holds my hand, keeps me warm, tells me I'm brilliant. He's considerate and kind and makes an effort not to tread over people's emotions. My boyfriend is more immature than him in some of these ways.
The rub is that my friend is too boring... not as insane and exciting as my boyfriend. I'd get bored of him. But I'm still flirting with him and holding hands when we watch movies and playing with his hair- all while I say I can't be with him because I have a boyfriend.
I'm a bad person.
